a good way for a necromancer to get ecto(globs of ectoplasm) worth arround 5k each
its underworld farming http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:N/...rworld_Solo_SV but you need prohecies and factions for that build, its possible to kill a lot of other foes whit that same build. btw: i highly recomend you reading this forum alot, this way you will get alot of experience in the game Last edited by furanshisuko; Feb 05, 2009 at 05:09 PM // 17:09.. |

just don't fall for guys trying to sell you armor or customized items.
you'll see if it is customized in it's name and there should be a warning in trade window (if i remember right) if there's one in trade. be prepared to find many a**holes in game but there's many people who are happy to help so keep your head up^^ as said before UW is a good start for farming ^^ enaugh cash and not too hard^^ |

Hello jibbyc, welcome to the forums and to GW.
First of all which campaign(s) do you have? I would recommend having a search on these here forums for questions and also check out the GW Wiki over at http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page which is very comprehensive. Working your way through the game and browsing the forums should get you fairly familiar with it's ins and outs. Scam info can be found here: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Scam Last edited by bsoltan; Feb 05, 2009 at 06:00 PM // 18:00.. |

1. NEVER, EVER drop anything on the ground for someone - no matter how far away they are or what profession they are.
2. Take your time getting through things the first time. Don't skip cut scenes you haven't watched before (ignore those that QQ because you didn't skip) 3. If you haven't already found a good guild, take your time in choosing one. 4. F10 is your friend!!! |

You can't get to eye of the north until you have a level 10 character minimum. The best advice for right now since you just started, is to play the game. Find a good guild if you can, there are a lot that advertise in the noob areas and they're friendly towards you if you just started. Don't jump in and immediately start looking to make your first million ecto, it's like life you just don't start off making that kind of money unless you win the lottery (which in guild wars is called the 'zaishen chest')
Play the game, watch the cutscenes (people will qq but you can usually deny it was you, there's no way to find out who didn't skip unless there's only 2 of you anyway) Don't pay for running through things, or skipping things, the first time through. Get to level 20, finish the games, create other characters. Try some pvp. Before you know it you'll be rich and a pro, but only if you have the right attitude going in. |

You can get to Eye of the North via quests given in Kamadan, Lion's Arch (prophecies), or Kaineng City (factions), once you get to any of those places and reach level 10. You can't create an EotN character, so don't sweat it.

Don't rush through anything as there will be other players playing this game even when GW2 comes out.

Check out the Xunlai Tournament* for a monthly source of free and easy cash (you can use points won to buy Zaishen keys and sell for about 4-5k each, or use them on Zaishen chest but it's a gamble)!!!
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Xunlai_Tournament_House https://www.guildwars.com/competitiv...se/default.php And make friends with this skill http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Spiteful_Spirit *I played for about 8 months without knowing about this, sigh!! Welcome to GW!!! Most important thing you can do is have fun. Making money comes as you get better and getting better is by playing though the games. Don't take runs for your first character. Learn how to play him/her and learn to use what you like. Once you see how things work out...then you can change things up. Other than that...have fun.

Here is another list of common scams from the other wiki (there are two for GW, the unofficial, which is a little older and therefore often more detailed, and the official, which is newer, has some better tooltips and developer talk pages).
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Common_scams That's a bit more specific. Basically, you don't see Eye of the North when you hit the "create a character" button because you can't make a character in that game, you can only bring existing characters to it (because it is an expansion, unlike the other games which are full on chapters, basically Eye of the North just doesn't have the starter/tutorial area.) |

- Do everything yourself the first time, or with a friend. Don't pay for runs, learn the missions then when you see people asking for a run take the money and do it for them.
- When you can, run from Camp Rankor to Beacon's Perch. I make 10 plat on average each time I do this from selling weapons and runes that drop. - Control double click an enemy when you attack. This makes your henchies or hero's all attack that one enemy, and greatly increases the speed you drop things. - Identify *everything*. Even white items, it will increase the sale value. - Buy the best Salvage and Identification kits you can afford. - Sell runes / dye / insignia's to other players. You'll make a lot more this way. - Experiment with different skill combinations. Check out other peoples builds, but find what works for you. There is no perfect build for every player. - Buy and upgrade your bags as soon as you can. The more you can carry the more you can sell. Have fun and enjoy the game!
